21 Days of Prayer

We are expectant about this season of prayer we are embarking upon. Prayer is so important at LCC, and so from Monday 5th until Sunday 25th January, we are encouraging everyone to make time and space to pray.  "21 Days of Prayer" is now a regular rhythm in the church's life at the start of each year, as we set aside time to gather, to seek God and to enjoy His presence!

Whenever we are more prayerful, we can experience God's presence and power in our lives, and expect answers to come; God hears and He will intervene (2 Chronicles 7:14). In this extended season of prayer, we encourage you to connect with God and go deeper with Him as we pray for ourselves, our families, the church, the nation and the world. Over the next 21 days, we encourage you to get involved as much as you can in community (as well as by yourself), and to commit to making space to seek the Lord.  We are also encouraging you to participate in the spiritual discipline of fasting, as the Lord leads you. This will be a season of "Worshipping, Waiting and Warring!" as we prioritise God at the start of this new year! Continue reading for more information of how you can get involved!

LET'S ENTER IN!

The Prayer eGuide Booklet and Kid's Wall Chart is available to view below, and physical copies of the Wall Chart will be available for collection from Sunday 4th January. The Prayer eGuide will include an overview of what's happening (and how you can join in), our Daily Prayer Guide, and a brief summary of Fasting.

OVERVIEW OF 21 DAYS OF PRAYER

There are 3 main ways we are encouraging you to get involved this year for 21 Days of Prayer:

1. GATHERINGS (Pray TOGETHER)
It’s so important to maintain the Spiritual Discipline of praying together as the Body of Christ. We’re meeting at the following times (for prayer (and worship) either in-person or on Zoom - ALL are welcome:

  • Wednesdays: Power Hour Prayer 7:30-8:30pm (ON ZOOM)
  • Thursdays: Encounter Night (Prayer and Worship): 7:30-9:00pm (IN-PERSON - LCC CENTRE, Charlotte Street) - on Thursday 8th & 15th only.
  • Fridays: War! 7:00-8:30pm (IN-PERSON - LIFE LOUNGE, Charlotte Street) - on Friday 9th & 16th
  • Friday: War! 9:00pm-1:00am (IN-PERSON - LCC CENTRE, Charlotte Street) - on Friday 23rd
  • Saturdays: Power Hour Prayer 7:00-8:00pm (ON ZOOM)
  • Sundays: Morning Prayer 9:40-10:15am (IN-PERSON - JUBILEE)

The details for all Zoom prayer sessions (Wednesdays & Saturdays) is: Meeting Id: 390 928 350 and Passcode: prayer or use the link: https://tinyurl.com/lcczoomprayer

2. GROUPS (Pray in TRIPLETS)
Prayer is sometimes easier and encouraging when done with other people. Jesus Himself taught about the power of agreement when we come together to pray.

This year we are making a focus of encouraging everyone at LCC to form a “triplet” for the 21 Days. This means agreeing to be in regular contact (e.g. daily) with 2 other people  to encourage  them, to find short bursts of time over the 3 weeks to pray together (e.g.  in person, on Zoom or other Video chat services). You could form a WhatsApp group and/ or send text messages to spur each other on along the way. Feel free to add one or two more people to your group if that’s helpful.

Here’s how it works:

  • Step 1. Approach a couple of people  who you could ‘journey with’ for the 21 Days.
  • Step 2. Find a way to stay connected (e.g. by setting up a WhatsApp group)
  • Step 3. Agree how/ when you can pray together over the 21 Days.
  • Step 4. Register your triplet using the button below
  • Step 5. Encourage one another daily with worship songs, Bible verses, prayer requests as well as answers to prayer along the way!

3. GUIDED (Pray ALONE)
Prayer Focus & Prayer Guide

We encourage you to have your own (extended) times with the Lord in prayer over these 21 Days. To help, you could:

  • Download and read our Prayer eGuide, which contains a daily prayer focus and scripture reading. You'll also discover different “Models of Prayer” that help bring focus to your prayer life.
  • Encourage and help your children to engage in prayer and some form of fasting by downloading our Kids' Prayer Chart.
  • Consider Fasting in some way which is a powerful spiritual discipline. For this reason we recommend that everyone undertakes some form of fasting as part of their participation in the 21 Days of Prayer (please read the Prayer Guide for more details).
